MVS Net to shut down mobile broadband operations

MVS Net, the internet unit of Mexican operator MVS Comunicaciones, will shut down its mobile broadband services on 30 June, El Universal reports, citing MVS spokesman Felipe Chao. MVS Net was founded in 2008 by Intel Capital, Clearwire and MVS, to provide wireless internet services in Mexico. MVS Net has been trying for over three years to renew its license to operate the 190 MHz bandwidth in the 2.5 GHz spectrum and obtain authorization to provide mobile broadband services.
