MVS Net to shut down mobile broadband operations
MVS Net, the internet unit of Mexican operator MVS Comunicaciones, will shut down its mobile broadband services on 30 June, El Universal reports, citing MVS spokesman Felipe Chao. MVS Net was founded in 2008 by Intel Capital, Clearwire and MVS, to provide wireless internet services in Mexico. MVS Net has been trying for over three years to renew its license to operate the 190 MHz bandwidth in the 2.5 GHz spectrum and obtain authorization to provide mobile broadband services. Mexican cable TV operators' association Canitec has urged Mexican cabler and wireless internet operator MVS to release the spectrum it currently owns in the 2.5 GHz frequency band, reports El Universal. MVS consortium to invest USD 1 bln in Mexico 4G network

Mexican operator MVS Comunicaciones has set up a consortium with Intel, Clearwire, and Alestra, the company which offers AT&T telecommunications services in Mexico. Mexican operator MVS Comunicaciones has set up a consortium with Intel, Clearwire and Alestra, the company which offers AT&T telecommunications services in Mexico.
