NBTC to use Universal Service Fund for broadband project

Thailand's National Council for Peace and Order has authorized the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission to use the universal-service obligation (USO) fund to develop telecom projects for the public, The Nation reports, citing deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Juntong. This decision allows the telecom watchdog to restart using the fund to finance the planned project of providing broadband internet access in rural areas.
