NCC says MTN has so far paid one third of regulatory penalty

MTN Nigeria has paid a total of NGN 110 billion to the government out of the NGN 330 billion imposed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), The Punch reported. NCC head Umar Danbatta also said the commission was rejigging its regulatory activities to ensure that the public gets value for money. In October 2015, it imposed a fine of NGN 1.04 trillion on MTN for irregular registration of subscribers.
