NCC says telcos must meet financial standards

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) board says telecommunications companies operating in Nigeria must henceforth meet certain financial and technical standards before they can operate in the country, reports The Punch. The NCC board stated this while giving directives to the NCC management regarding the outstanding USD 589 million from the USD 1.2 billion loan obtained from a consortium of thirteen banks by Etisalat Nigeria in 2013.
