Nearly 60% of Dutch admit to binge-viewing

Monday 29 February 2016 | 10:43 CET | News
Almost six in ten (59%) of Dutch consumers said they have binge-viewed a TV series in the past six months, watching at least two episodes in the same sitting. That's up from 50 percent a year ago, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel. Forty-one percent said they have not in the past six months or never binge-viewed a programme. The increase in the practice is due to the rise of subscription VoD services, and this is the most common way to binge-view, at 19 percent, the survey found. Those binge-viewing over a VoD service more than doubled compared to 7 percent a year ago.
