Nearly third of Germans watch streaming video weekly

Almost of third (30%) of Germans watch TV series or films over streaming video services at least once a week, according to a survey by TNS Kantar for the German digital economy association BVDW. The percentage is up from 22 percent a year ago. The same survey found 65 percent watch linear TV weekly, over cable, satellite or DVB-T, down from 71 percent a year earlier. Online video is still watched mainly at home (81%), with only around 10 percent using it on public transport such as buses and trains.
