NEC, Tokyo Institute create 39 GHz beamforming transceiver for 5G communications

Researchers at of Technology and NEC, Japan, created a 39 GHz transceiver with built-in calibration for 5G applications. The transceiver brings better quality communications as well as cost-effective scalability. Demonstrated by a team of more than 20 researchers at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), the 39 GHz transceiver may be used in the next wave of 5G wireless equipment, including base stations, smartphones, tablets and IoT applications.
