Nedjma picks first 10 provinces for 3G service

Mobile company Wataniya Telecom Algeria, which operates under the Nedjma brand, has selected 10 provinces (Wilayas) where it will be the sole provider of 3G service beginning as early as December. Yet Nedjma did not reveal the names of these locations because the country's three mobile operators must wait until the licence allocations are published in the official gazette. Agence Ecofin reports that Nedjma consulted with telecom regulator ARPT's competition committee to choose these ten provinces out of 25 where it will have to offer 3G by the end of 2014.
