Net neutrality boosts innovation - study

Net neutrality as provided in Dutch law helps reduce market failures and stimulate innovation in the ICT sector, according to a report by the research institute SEO for the Dutch ministry of economic affairs. Net neutrality was added to the Telecommunications Law in 2012, making the Netherlands one of the few countries to legislate on the matter. According to the study, the law has helped smaller content application providers develop new services and products, while also bringing advantages for larger content providers and ISPs.
