Netflix, Amazon Prime to face EU content quota

Netflix, Amazon Prime and other VoD services could be asked in the not too distant future to respect a 20 percent quota for European content in their video offer in every EU member state. Les Echos writes that European Commission media industry officials are working on this basis. Commissioner Andrus Ansip, responsible for the digital single market, told the French newspaper at Cannes that a more level playing field between large OTT TV providers and traditional TV channels had to be created.
