Netflix buys 1 TB of capacity at France IX in Paris

Saturday 19 July 2014 | 18:02 CET | News
Dave Temkins, Netflix's director of network architecture and interconnection strategy, has announced on Twitter that the company had bought 1 Terabit of capacity at the France IX IXP. "Open Connect comes to Paris! With 1 Terabit of capacity ready for launch. @Netflixfra will be on @ixpfranceix soon." France IX has eight PoPs in Paris and Marseille. Open Connect is Neflix's open content delivery network (CDN). Numerama reported a month ago that Neflix had installed an interconnection point at a Telehouse data centre in Paris, which has peering agreements with over 175 operators.

It's false : according to Les Echos newspaper, it's 100 gigabit on FranceIX and rest is for private interconnection capacity.
