Netflix content chief talks future company plans

At the biennial Royal Television Society Cambridge Convention, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos discussed the company's plans for global expansion, rising spending for original content and its relationship with Hollywood players, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sarandos explained that Netflix currently spends less than 10 percent of overall spending on original programming, however he expects this number to increase to 20 percent in the coming years. Sarandos did not disclose any details about Netflix's UK subscriber numbers but noted that the company was "quite successful."
