Netflix denies report of imminent launch in Germany

Thursday 16 January 2014 | 14:05 CET | News
Video streaming platform Netflix has denied press reports that it will soon launch services in Germany. The company told media portal 'OneTVMag' that although it has previously indicated plans to expand in Europe later in 2014, it has not said which markets it would launch in. Netflix's head of communications, Joris Evers, said it was too early to talk about its plans for the German market. The denial follows a report from US portal GigaOm that it would soon launch in France and Germany.
