Netflix has 5 million German customers, 2nd behind Amazon

Netflix has around 5 million customers in Germany with a market share of 20 percent on the OTT video streaming market, according to German magazine Wirtschaftswoche citing exclusive figures provide by German market researcher Goldmedia. Amazon Prime Instant Video is the largest German OTT video provider with a market share of 47 percent, while German OTT video services Sky Go and Maxdome are number three and four. The figures provided by Goldmedia are based on surveys of 50,000 Germans with regards to their media use. Other findings include that Netflix is used more frequently with 29 percent
