Netflix has no plans to offer download option

Tuesday 8 September 2015 | 10:58 CET | News
Netflix has no plans to offer an offline viewing option for subscribers. In an interview with Digital Spy, Netflix's chief product officer Neil Hunt said it was much more important to focus on the problem of distributing content on an aeroplane, suggesting that it wants to offer an in-flight streaming service. However, he stressed that this was still very theoretical and said that Netflix did not have any specific plans to discuss at this time. Hunt said that although it would not happen in 2015 or 2016, he did not think it was that far away and was more sustainable than a download model.
