Netflix helps set up Argentine film industry support fund with ARS 40 mln donation

Netflix has joined forces with the Argentine Academy of Cinematography Arts and Sciences to create the "COVID-19 Film and Audiovisual Industry Relief Fund" with a view to providing financial aid to support more than 1,000 workers in the sector. The donation of ARS 40 million will be administered by the Academy to be distributed among the staff most affected by the suspension of audiovisual productions of movies, series and documentaries in Argentina, said the streaming giant, adding that the country's Ministry of Culture and National Film Board INCAA are also accompanying the initiative.
