Netflix hits half a million users in Spain - study

Netflix doubled hits Spanish subscriber base in the second half of 2016 to reach a total of 540,000 homes at the end of December, according to the latest consumer household survey conducted by communications regulator CNMC. The video streaming service launched in Spain on 20 October 2015 and has since grown to reach 3.4 percent of Spanish internet homes at the end of 2016, ahead of Wuaki on 1.3 percent but behind Telefonica's Yomvi (Movistar+) service, which leads the IPTV market with a 7.6 percent household penetration rate.
