Netflix inaugurates European production hub in Madrid

Netflix has officially inaugurated its new Madrid production centre, the company's first in Europe, at an event attended by CEO Reed Hastings. The streaming giant last year signed a multi-year contract with Spanish broadcaster and producer Grupo Secuoya to hire space in the 22,000 square-meter 'Ciudad de la Tele' production hub in the northern Madrid suburb of Tres Cantos. Netflix is already using three 1,200 square metre sound-proofed theatres in the campus, which will be a central facility for the streaming giant's slate of Spanish-language original content over the coming years including
