Netflix loses court case over network usage fees in South Korea

Global streaming company Netflix has lost a court case over network usage fees in South Korea. This is the world's first ruling over a dispute about whether OTT service providers should pay internet service companies for network usage, The Korea Economic Daily reports. Back in April 2020, Netflix filed a complaint against SK Broadband, rejecting the Korean internet provider's demand that the streaming platform pay for network use on the local market.
