US video streaming service Netflix has informed the government of Luxembourg that it intends to move its European headquarters from Luxembourg to the Netherlands, prime minister Xavier Bettel told parliament on 20 May, AFP reports. The move is likely to take place from the start of 2015, according to his statement that gave no reason for the move. Netflix set up its Luxembourg headquarters in 2011 and offers its service in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. It is reported to plan a push into several more European markets in September.
