Netflix unable to agree carriage with French ISPs - report

Netflix has been unable to reach an agreement for distribution with French ISPs ahead of its launch in the country 15 September, reports BFM Business. The ISPs' ADSL gateways account for almost 80 percent of market VoD revenues, but Netflix has been unable to negotiate distribution over the platforms. The subscription VoD service will be available at launch only over computers, game consoles and smart TVs. According to the report, despite several months of talks, the ISPs were not satisfied with the carriage fees offered by Netflix, which were much lower than what the premium TV service Canal
