Netflix US catalogue shrinks by a third since January 2014

Monday 28 March 2016 | 13:35 CET | News
Netflix's US catalogue has shrunk by around a third since January 2014, according to AllFlicks. The SVoD service's film selection declined by 33.2 percent to 4,335 titles in March 2016 from 6,494 in January 2014. The number of TV shows declined by 25.6 percent to 1,197 titles from 1,609 over the same period. The decline is attributed to the growing competition in the streaming market from services like Hulu and Amazon Prime. The move has allowed Netflix to increase its investment in original content.
