Netflix uses tests to attract more viewers

Friday 6 May 2016 | 11:14 CET | News
TV streaming company Netflix uses psychological experiments to make viewers watch more, reports The Telegraph. For every title available on the platform, Netflix has tested six different lead images. The test involves showing six different images to sets of 100,000 viewers and seeing which one attracts the most people. This data is then used to get more viewers watching its shows and to strategise for future launches. The tests were confirmed to The Telegraph by Todd Yellin, head of product innovation at Netflix.
