Netherlands approves legislation implementing digital goods protection

The Dutch government has approved legislation aimed at enhancing consumer protection for digital devices and services bought online. Consumers should be able to expect a certain period of software and security updates for products such as smart TVs, printers, cameras and smartwatches, if the proposal is approved by parliament. The same would apply for digital goods such as games, apps and streaming services.
