Netherlands leads Europe for broadband uptake - EC

The Netherlands took first place in Europe for broadband uptake and second for next generation access, according to a study from the European Commission, looking at the progress made on the Digital Agenda. And although it is not yet widely available in the Netherlands, the uptake of mobile broadband is higher than the European average. At the end of 2012, almost all homes (over 99.95%) had access to broadband, compared to an EU average of 95.5 percent.
