Netherlands not lagging behind with LTE - minister

Tuesday 20 November 2012 | 12:41 CET | News
Netherlands is not lagging behind other countries with its rollout of 4G networks, minister of economic affairs Henk Kamp said in response to questions from MPs. Kamp said he agreed with Eurocommissioner Neelie Kroes (Digital Agenda) when she said Europe must accelerate the rollout of 4G networks. The Dutch spectrum auction for 800, 900 and 1800 frequencies is currently running. Winners are expected to deploy 4G networks in the coming years. Most LTE services are operated from 800, MHz, 1800 MHz and 2.6 GHz bands. Kamp expects the auction winners to also roll out 4G using those frequencies.
