Friday 31 March 2017 | 12:17 CET | News
The Netherlands has passed 1 million fibre broadband subscribers, according to the latest figures from market regulator ACM. The number of retail connections rose from 991,000 in Q2 2016 to 1.03 million at the end of September. Cable broadband grew over the same period by 14,000 connections to 3.299 million, while DSL dropped to 2.79 million subscribers. While speeds of up to 1 Gbps are available over fibre, most subscribers are using 30-100 Mbps, according to the ACM's quarterly market monitor. Just under half a million fibre connections are in this range, and 373,000 receive over 100 Mbps.
