Network sharing could save EU operators EUR 20-40 bln -study

Sharing mobile networks can save EUR 20-40 billion, according to Booz & Co in their report, "Sharing Mobile Networks: Why the Pros Outweigh the Cons". The savings could be made from the estimated EUR 150 billion set to be invested into upgrading equipment and rolling out 4G in the coming years. Average operators could save 30-40 percent, while larger operator with revenues from EUR 50 billion could save up to EUR 1-2 billion.
