New 5G for 12 GHz coalition call on FCC to clear band for 5G services

A number of US public interest groups, trade associations and companies in the telecom sector have launched the 5G for 12GHz Coalition, calling on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to clear the 12 GHz spectrum for 5G services by modernizing old rules. The groups say that the 500 MHz of available capacity in the 12 GHz band could, once approved, be deployed immediately for terrestrial, two-way 5G services.
