New EU tax rules for online giants to come in 2018 - Juncker

Monday 2 October 2017 | 09:40 CET | News
The European Commission will propose new rules in 2018 to ensure that internet giants such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon pay their fair share of taxes, according to the EU executive's president Jean-Claude Juncker. "We are of the opinion that in the digital sector, tax has to be paid where it is due, be it online or be it offline," said Juncker at a summit of EU leaders in Estonia, according to Reuters. "The Commission will propose next year new rules on fair and effective taxation that provides legal certainty and a level playing field for all," he added.
