New Icann CEO takes office early

Fadi Chehade has started work as the new CEO and president of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). He assumed his position two weeks ahead of his planned start date. Interim CEO Akram Atallah will reassume his role as COO. Chehade said he has been consulting the internet community the past two months since his appointment as CEO on ways to improve Icann's relations with stakeholders, in order to improve the domain name system and ensure everyone can benefit from a sustainable and resilient internet.
