New York City sues T-Mobile US for 'abusive sales tactics'

The city of New York is taking T-Mobile US to court, saying the company's prepaid Metro brand sold used phones as new devices and overcharged customers, the Wall Street Journal reported. The New York City agency said the company used "abusive sales tactics," failed to give customers legal receipts and charged illegal taxes. The suit, filed in the state Supreme Court of Manhattan, is aimed at T-Mobile US and several of its authorised Metro by T-Mobile brand dealers.
