New Zealand proposes copper deregulation from 2020

New Zealand's Communications Minister Simon Bridges has confirmed details of the government's new approach to regulating fixed line communications services. The government has launched public consultations seeking feedback on ending regulation of the copper network from 2020 and focusing future regulation on the fibre network. "The new regime is designed to provide long-term certainty for the sector, and to support ongoing innovation and investment. Ultimately, this will result in better services for consumers, with consistently improving broadband speeds and quality at competitive prices,"
