Nexans telecom cable sales hold steady in 2010

French cable manufacturer Nexans reported telecom sales down 0.3 percent to EUR 426 million in 2010, as lower infrastructure cable sales were offset by stronger LAN cable revenues. Despite an improvement in the second half from the first, telecom infrastructure cable sales fell to EUR 182 million in 2010 from EUR 185 million a year earlier, at constant non-ferrous metal prices. Nexans' operating margin in infrastructure cables was EUR 9 million, versus EUR 16 million in 2009. The company's private networks (LAN) business saw sales rise by 5.5 percent to EUR 244 million in 2010 from EUR 221
