Nextel mulls MVNO licence in Chile

Nextel has required an MVNO license form Chilean telecoms regulator Subtel. Via this move, Nextel plans to expand its mobile services to the prepay market, El Financiero reports, citing Nextel Chile president Estanislao Pena. Nextel Chile plans to serve as a niche player on the prepay market, and will provide prepay mobile services using its own network and spectrum, Pena added. Chile currently has four MVNOs, namely Virgin Mobile, VTR Movil, Movil Falabella and GTD.
