Nextel, Unefon remove roaming charges for prepay users

Tuesday 4 August 2015 | 11:21 CET | News
Mexican mobile operators Nextel and Unefon, now owned by AT&T, have announced that their prepay users will no longer be charged roaming fees in the US. The removal of roaming charges was one of AT&T's promises when it acquired the operators, having pledged to launch the first-ever North American mobile service area covering more than 400 million customers and businesses in Mexico and the US. Under the newly-announced offer, prepay users will also have zero rating access to social networks (WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter) as well as calls, data and SMS at no extra charge.
