NFC mobile payment initiative launches in Berlin

The Mobile Payment Initiative NFC-City Berlin has been launched in Berlin, with the amount of NFC acceptance points having been doubled to win over customers. Telefonica Germany, which runs the Base Wallet and Mpass services, is one of the supporters of the initiative, alongside Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Deutschland and retailers Galeria Kaufhof, Kaiser's, Obi, Oh Angie, Penny, Real, Rewe and Temma.
