Niel sells 3% of Iliad for EUR 300 million

French telecom group Iliad's founder, Xavier Niel, has sold 3 percent of the company in a private placement with BNP Paribas acting as bookrunner, reports Les Echos. The move leaves Niel with 55.3 percent of Iliad, the parent company of major ISP and mobile operator Free. Based on Iliad's capitalisation of around EUR 10 billion, the 3 percent was worth some EUR 300 million on 4 September.
