The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned until 18 March the hearing of a case over the fine imposed by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) against MTN Nigeria. MTN said the judge decided 22 January to adjourn the case in order to enable the parties to try to settle. If the parties are unable to reach a settlement, the matter will then proceed on that date..
The NCC imposed in December 2015 a fine of NGN 780 billion on MTN Nigeria for failure to disconnect customers who had not registered their personal details with their SIMs. MTN has appealed the fine.
