Nigerian govt takes part in MTN conciliation talks to avert strike on 24 August

The Nigerian government has intervened in the dispute between MTN Nigeria and the Private Telecommunication and Communications Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PTECSSAN), reports NAN. Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige took part in a conciliation meeting between MTN Nigeria management and PTECSSAN. The trade union had issued a two-week ultimatum to MTN Nigeria over allegations of unfair labour practices and had threatened strike action on 24 August if the issues were not addressed by then.
