Nigerian minister declares end to era of pre-registered SIMs

Nigerian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Ibrahim Pantami has said that the era of pre-registered SIM cards at open markets and other places is over, reports the Daily Trust. He said that through the ministry's interventions, the problem of pre-registered cards had been eradicated. He said the use of pre-registered SIMs for criminal activities had been reduced to the barest minimum in the last eleven months since he became minister.
