Nkom allocates funding for broadband in under-served places

Thursday 1 October 2015 | 12:23 CET | News
The Norwegian communications regulator, Nkom, said it is allocating funding for 32 broadband projects in places with poor provision and where broadband deployment is considered commercially unviable. It said the parliament has approved NOK 110 million through the national budget. This will provide approximately 9,900 homes with broadband either for the first time, or with improvements. It received 172 applications from eighteen of Norway's nineteen counties. It received applications for between NOK 100,000 and NOK 25,000.
