Nkom submits 700 MHz recommendations to govt

Thursday 22 June 2017 | 11:48 CET | News
Norwegian telecoms regulator Nkom said it submitted its recommendations on using the 700 MHz band to the Ministry of Transport and Communications on 12 June and is now publishing them. As the watchdog said before, it has decided that the 694 to 790 MHz frequencies benefit society best when used for commercial mobile networks. Crucially, it came to the conclusion that emergency and civil contingency requirements can be met through commercial grids, rather than any by ring-fencing any portions of the airwaves for such emergency needs.
