Nkom's Sorensen discusses net neutrality with FCC's Jordan

Thursday 23 April 2015 | 12:32 CET | News
Norwegian telecoms regulator Nkom said its senior advisor Frode Sorensen discussed network neutrality at the 22 April SmartWorkshop in Barcelona with the Federal Communication Commision's (FCC's) Scott Jordan. In an article, Sorensen said Norway's geoscience research institute Norsar established the first non-US node to Arpanet, the predecessor to the internet, in 1973, and that Norway has the oldest net neutrality regime in Europe, adopted in 2009. It had clear rules against blocking and throttling of applications.
