No major congestion issues in EU states despite 'significant' traffic increase - Berec

The fixed and mobile networks of the main European operators have experienced no major congestion problems in spite of a "significant increase' in overall traffic due to the coronavirus crisis, according to the first information gathering exercise undertaken by the Body of the European Regulators of Electronic Communications (Berec) on 24 March. Following a joint statement released with the European Commission earlier this month, Berec committed to setting up a special mechanism to ensure regular monitoring of the internet traffic situation in each Member State to be able to respond swiftly
