Nokia and Sony latest to withdraw from in-person MWC Barcelona

Nokia and Sony have followed Ericsson in officially pulling out of this year's in-person Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona as a result of Covid-19 concerns. "The health of our employees, customers and partners is of paramount importance to us," said Nokia, adding that its decision was due to the international nature of the event and the fact the global vaccine rollout is still in its early phase. Sony Mobile issued a similar statement with both companies saying they intend to take part in the virtual MWC21 event instead.
