Nokia confirms Borchert as Europe chief after Alcatel merger

Nokia announced that its current head of European operations, Markus Borchert will continue in the same role after the company's merger with Alcatel-Lucent. Assuming the merger goes ahead, Borchert will oversee the combined company's customer operations across Europe, driving the execution of strategy and ensuring customer service and a strong focus on innovation and quality, Nokia said. Borchert is currently Senior Vice President Market Europe at Nokia Networks. He served as President of the Greater China Region from 2012 to 2015 and before that was Head of Customer Operations of the Greater
