Nokia continues to dominate UAE mobile industry - TRA

Nokia led the mobile phone market in the UAE during the month of June, with a share of 56.4 percent, followed by Samsung (13.8%), BlackBerry (10.7%) and Apple (7.4%), according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in its Smart Phone and Mobile Operating Systems review. Out of the total number of mobile handsets registered on networks in the UAE, smartphone penetration at June stood at 44 percent. Among operating systems (OS), Accenture's Symbian remains in the lead (38%), followed by Blackberry OS next (23%), Android (21%) and Apple- iOS (16%). The TRA's report showed that
