Nokia, GSMA Intelligence say telecoms firms consider AI software vital to improving network energy efficiency

Tuesday 2 November 2021 | 12:49 CET | News
Nokia and GSMA Intelligence have announced new research showing that communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide consider artificial intelligence (AI) software essential to cutting network energy demand and emissions spurred by internet traffic growth. AI programs can align equipment use patterns with live network demands and identify anomalies in underperforming equipment that saps â€‹energy resources and requires replacement. Most of the 103 CSPs surveyed said that energy efficiency is either "very important" or "extremely important" to their network transformation.
