Nokia launches IoT and 5G-ready Shared Data Layer

Nokia has announced the launch of Shared Data Layer, described as a central point of storage for all the data used by Virtualised Network Functions (VNFs). The company said its Shared Data Layer is designed to free VNFs from the need to manage their own data, creating what it refers to as 'stateless VNFs': simplified, programmable 5G-ready networks. Nokia added that Shared Data Layer also serves to reduce turnaround times for introducing new services, boosting operator revenues.
